What is periodontics?
Periodontology or periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. The supporting tissues are known as the periodontium, which includes the gingiva, alveolar bone, cementum, and the periodontal ligament.
Our services
At our practice, we offer a wide range of periodontal services to help our patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. Whether you need routine dental care or more complex treatment for gum disease or other conditions, we have the expertise and resources to help you. Some of the periodontal services we offer include:
Gum Grafting
Gum grafting is a surgical procedure in which a piece of gum tissue is taken from one area of the mouth and transplanted to another area where the gums have receded or thinned. This procedure can help to protect the roots of the teeth and improve the appearance of the gums. Gum grafting is usually performed by a periodontist.
Implant Repair
Implant repair is a type of treatment that is used to fix problems with dental implants. This may involve the replacement of a damaged implant or the repair of an implant that has become loose. Implant repair is usually performed by an oral surgeon or a periodontist.
Scaling and Root Planing
Scaling and root planing is a type of treatment for gum disease. It involves the removal of plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth and the smoothing out of the root surfaces to help the gums reattach to the teeth. Scaling and root planing is a non-surgical treatment that is typically performed by a dental hygienist or a periodontist.
Titanium Implants
Titanium implants are a type of dental implant that is made of titanium. They are used to replace missing teeth or to support dentures. Titanium implants are strong and durable, and they have a high success rate. They are also resistant to corrosion, making them a good choice for people who are allergic to metal.
Bad Breath
Bad breath, also known as halitosis, is a condition in which a person has an unpleasant smell on their breath. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor oral hygiene, gum disease, dry mouth, and certain medications. Treatment for bad breath may involve improving oral hygiene, treating underlying medical conditions, and using mouthwashes or other products to freshen the breath.
Periodontal Surgery
Periodontal Surgery
Surgical gum treatment is a type of treatment that is used to repair or restore the gums. This may involve procedures such as gum grafting, gum reshaping, or the removal of infected gum tissue. Surgical gum treatment is usually performed by a periodontist, a dental specialist who focuses on the treatment of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth.
Dental Implant Solutions
Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth or to restore full chewing function in cases of partial or complete tooth loss.
1) Single tooth implants provide a natural-looking replacement for an individual tooth, preserving adjacent teeth and supporting long-term oral health.
2) Implant dentures offer greater stability and comfort than traditional removable dentures, improving retention, speech, and daily function.
3) Full mouth dental implants are designed for patients with extensive tooth loss, restoring an entire arch of teeth with strength, aesthetics, and durability.
Across all treatment options, dental implants are engineered to integrate with the bone and provide a functional, natural-looking result that supports both oral health and quality of life.
Biopsy
A periodontal biopsy is a diagnostic procedure used to examine a small sample of gum tissue or other oral structures to identify the nature of a lesion or abnormality. This specialized service is essential for detecting conditions such as oral infections, benign growths, or early signs of oral cancer. Performed by a periodontist, the process ensures a precise diagnosis, allowing for a tailored treatment plan that prioritizes your overall oral and systemic health.
Sinus Lift
A Sinus Lift is a specialized bone grafting procedure designed to increase the amount of bone in the upper jaw, specifically near the molars and premolars. By gently lifting the sinus membrane and adding bone graft material, this treatment creates a solid foundation for dental implants in patients who have experienced bone loss or naturally have enlarged sinuses. This ensures that your implants have the support needed for long-term stability and function.
Laser Dental & Aesthetics Treatments
Our practice utilizes the state-of-the-art Fotona Laser to deliver a range of non-invasive aesthetic and therapeutic treatments. This includes LipLase for natural lip plumping without injectables, comprehensive Facial Aesthetics for skin tightening and rejuvenation, and NightLase, a gentle treatment that reduces snoring and improves sleep quality. These innovative procedures offer effective, natural-looking results with minimal to no downtime.

Ceramic implants have a number of benefits, including their natural-looking appearance, which makes them a good option for people who want to avoid the metallic look of traditional titanium implants. They are also strong and durable, and they are resistant to corrosion, making them a good choice for people who are allergic to metal.
Laser Surgery
Laser gum surgery involves the use of a laser to remove infected gum tissue and to stimulate the growth of new gum tissue; it is a minimally invasive procedure that is typically less painful than traditional gum surgery, and it can help to preserve healthy gum tissue while treating the infection.

This procedure is less invasive than traditional gum grafting, and it can be performed without the need for incisions or sutures.
